Patit Creek Cellars offers a fun tasting

We recently stopped at Challenger Ridge Vineyard and Cellar to do a little tasting. It was “nice”. The people were friendly and the wine was OK. Nothing really special. Then we notices that there was a shared space with Patit Creek Cellars. The person pouring was all alone at her tasting bar so we thought we would give it a try.

This really made our day. Brooke was delightful – full of energy and very enthusiastic. She told us about the wine and some of the history of the vineyards. She showed us the pumpkins that she had decorated for the fall harvest.

All and all it was a fun afternoon with some very good wine We tried one of Brooke’s favorites – The 2008 “The Creek” Red Wine. An extremely good Tuesday Wine for $16.

We left with a couple of bottles of this as well as a wonderful 2005 Cab Sav from the Walla Walla Valley. I would certainly recommend stopping in and trying both wineries and be sure to say hello to Brooke for us.
